Bronx No-Zone Accident Lawyers
A car accident can be especially devastating when a semi-tractor trailer is involved. These large trucks, also known as 18-wheelers, can weigh several tons and cause considerable damage to other vehicles. In 2003 alone, large semi-tractor trailers were involved in 4,669 fatal truck accidents in the U.S.
If a truck driver fails to regularly check his or her blind spots (also known as “no-zones”), the result can be a major motor vehicle accident. If you or someone you love has been injured or killed in a truck accident caused by someone else’s negligence, contact the Bronx no-zone truck accident accident attorneys of Parker Waichman Alonso, LLP today at 888-244-2273.
What is a No-Zone?
Compared to passenger cars, semi-trailer trucks are gigantic vehicles that dominate the road. Because of their large size and trailer length, these big trucks have wide blind spots where the driver cannot see other vehicles nearby. These blind spots are known as a truck’s no-zones. The no-zones of a semi-trailer truck include:
- Front no-zone
- Rear no-zone
- Side no-zone
- Right turn no-zone
If a car occupies a truck’s blind spot, the truck driver may not even realize that another vehicle is nearby. Driving in a truck’s no-zone can greatly increase your chances of being involved in a serious accident, so it is strongly recommended that drivers never hang out directly next to, behind, or in front of trucks where they cannot be seen.
